The charger stays on and the motor and fan continues to run as long as the unit is plugged in to electricity. The charger blew a fuse to my battery charge indicator on my golf cart. I initially thought it burned my batteries, but they were fine. I will feel better with a unit that cycles off when a complete charge is obtained.
